Another Year is Dawning for IAPCHE

Our article publishing the findings of our recent global reseach has been accepted for publication in the prestigious journal Higher Education. This research demonstrates unparalleled growth of CHE around the world.

So we do not exaggerate when saying that there has been no more important time to encourage an integrally Christian approach to higher education than today. With your support this has been IAPCHEs mission. Around the world we argue that by taking seriously our mere Christianity, professors provide a better understanding of the world through their teaching and research. As a result, IAPCHEs network of individuals and institutions has more than doubled over the last few years.

In order to better serve this network, IAPCHE conducted an extensive series of projects this past year . We introduced an integral vision to professors in India, Korea, Mexico and Nigeria. We also collaborated with Calvin College in a major conference on higher education in the United States. Five events in one year! This was over and above our normal course of research, consultations, church presentations and member services.

In September we convene our second conference for 50 Presidents of Christian colleges in India. In October we have been invited to provide a Dialogue session on Christian higher education for the Lausanne Convention in Cape Town, South Africa. In November we will consult on the first semester-at-sea program for Christian college students. This is turning into another banner year for promoting an integrally Christian approach to higher education around the world.

"Many Hands Make Light Work"

We are already six weeks into our financial year (July 2010 - June 2011). This year, more than ever, we need your help to secure funding for our association. Please prayerfully consider how you can assist IAPCHE financially.

Make a donation...

...in addition to paying your annual dues. Often, institutional and individual members in developing countries find it difficult to pay. Your donation enables membership for these scholars and universities.

How much do we need?

No amount is too small, as the following list demonstrates:

  • $2,000: sponsors a resource person at a regional faculty enrichment program
  • $1,250: assists a delegate from a developing country to attend an IAPCHE conference
  • $500: allows a large college in a developing country to become an institutional member, which means all its professors benefit
  • $105: covers 3 individuals' annual membership dues
  • $50: covers an affiliate's annual membership dues
  • $35: covers an individual's annual membership dues
  • $10: assists in shipping books to another country

Monthly gift

If a one-time large gift is not possible for you, consider a small monthly gift. Your financial institution can assist you with auto-payments of a specified amount to be sent each month.

Share names of potential major donors or granting organizations, for whom you can be a "gatekeeper." Contact Exectuive Director Nick Lantinga by email.

Church offering

If you are willing to educate your congregation about our efforts, we have drafted two presentations. to which you may  personalize, if you wish. We suggest that you make one or two presentations to your congregation, and follow up by collecting an offering.

  • Academic Evangelism around the World, describes some of the early results of the first ever research on Christian higher education (CHE) around the world, and shows IAPCHEs role in this expanding area of Gods world.

  • Christian Higher Education: Phoenix or Firework, describes the decline of CHE into the late 1980s, and its rise to the present. The question to be probed: Is CHE back to stay, or is its recent rise merely a passing fad?

We also have a leaflet that you may distribute to your congregation.

Non-monetary donations

We also welcome frequent flyer miles, translation assistance, copy editing, to name a few.
