The purpose of IAPCHE, on organization of individuals and institutions, is to serve Jesus as Lord, by fostering worldwide the developments of integral Christian higher education through networking and related academic activity.
Organization 1 Objective 1: Enhance the identity and functionality of IAPCHE’s regions 1.1 Support and develop where necessary Regional Councils 1.1.1 Maintain quarterly contact between the IAPCHE office and established regional councils 1.1.2 Consider recommendations from the Asia/Oceania Regional Councils regarding subdividing Asia/Oceania 1.1.3 Assist Regional Councils in developing and maintaining membership, preparing budgets and programming, and formulating long-range plans 1.1.4 Extending IAPCHE membership to individual members in all organized regional expressions and negotiate shared dues arrangements with Regional Councils 1.1.5 Support Regional Councils with funds as needed and available 1.2 Work with regional organizations that promote CHE 2 Objective 2: Participate in a global alliance, such as the alliance with ICHE and the CCCU’s International Commission on Higher Education. 3 Objective 3: Budget income and expenses 3.1 Insure adequate income 3.1.1 Promote IAPCHE's mission to individual Christian scholars 3.1.2 Recruit additional associate members; 3.1.3 Recruit additional institutional members 3.1.4 Encourage support from denominations and churches affiliated with current institutional and individual members 3.1.5 Review the role of regional advisors and board members in securing additional support. 3.2 Monitor expenses with diligence 3.2.1 Approve proposed expenditures that can be paid from available funds 3.2.2 Consider proposals for new programming that include a plan for obtaining the necessary resources 4 Objective 4: Insure appropriate staffing in the IAPCHE office 4.1 Review staffing needs and remuneration annually 4.2 Utilize students, interns and volunteers when possible
Programs 5 Objective 1: Schedule and hold an international conference for institutional and individual members every five years in order to clarify the relationship between CHE and kingdom service throughout the world 5.1 Plan conference components for the administrators of institutions 5.1.1 Include explorations of the nature and task of academic administration 5.1.2 Provide a “Best Practices” forum for administrators 5.2 Plan conference components for individual scholars 5.2.1 Encourage discipline-specific opportunities to advance academic discussions and networking across regions 5.2.2 Stimulate discussions on topics identified by Regional Councils or members 6 Objective 2: Conduct regional conferences periodically 6.1 Assist Regional Councils to conduct such conferences 6.2 Work with the region’s board members and advisor where there is no regional council 6.3 Encourage discipline-specific opportunities to advance academic discussions and networking 7 Objective 3: Publish a membership directory in online format, distributing in hardcopy only when so requested 8 Objective 4: Publish Contact in order to communicate regularly with membership 8.1 Provide multilingual editions of publications when feasible, sharing this responsibility with the regional councils and board members 8.2 Explore the feasibility of providing a curriculum bank to promote integral and cross-cultural teaching 9 Objective 5: Publish conference proceedings and consider ways to make scholarly papers available to a broader public 9.1 Develop policies for the publication of conference proceedings 9.2 Develop policies for the publication of other scholarly papers 9.3 Form a task force to assess the association’s publication needs regarding academic publication and regional interests 10 Objective 6: Encourage institutions of higher education to assist in the academic formation of Christian educators 10.1 Collaborate with Alta Vista and other member organizations as appropriate to encourage consultations among agencies similarly concerned 10.2 Encourage regional conference discussions on the relationship between CHE and Christian educators 10.3 Encourage the academic formation of Christian educators through networking with IAPCHE member institutions and their related educational service organizations 11 Objective 7: Review the structure of and the demand for the CASC program and proceed accordingly
Projects 12 Objective 1: Examine expanding IAPCHE’s efforts 12.1 Develop criteria for determining what short-term projects IAPCHE should undertake 12.2 Review such projects as 12.2.1 A Global Exchange program 12.2.2 A leadership training program for administrators and those seeking to start new institutions 12.2.3 A website for international travel plans 12.2.4 Cross-cultural collaborative research 12.2.5 Providing a system of equivalent credits across the IAPCHE institutional membership 12.3 Assist Calvin College’s Nagel Institute for World Christianity in Conducting research regarding the state of global CHE 12.3.1 Develop a database of institutions of CHE throughout the world 12.3.2 Make database available to regional councils 13 Objective 2: Assist ICS in the implementation and promotion of the Faith and Learning Network
Membership 14 Objective 1: Increase individual memberships to 1450 14.1 Review dues schedule with sensitivity to varying individual resources 14.2 Encourage institutional members to increase individual membership within their institutions. 15 Objective 2: Increase institutional memberships from 55 to 110 16 Objective 3: Increase affiliates from 20 to 40 17 Objective 4: Increase associates from 28 to 75 |
